The Hospital lacked unified health indicators that could allow them to make informed decisions, in order to improve not only patients’ care but also the institution management.

The challenge

  • With the increasing hospital admissions, together with the increasing number of patients, the Hospital had the need of not only optimizing the data uploading and updating processes, but also of implementing a tool that could channel and place all the data in a single unified database that could later be analyzed.
  • Another challenge was to implement Qlik Sense as an analysis and visualization tool, by developing a management board with more than 50 health indicators, with completely standardized criteria which were also unified among the different hospital areas. In order to develop those indicators, the definitions provided by the World Health Organization (WHO) were taken into account.
  • Another challenge was to create an interdisciplinary work team, for which the departments of Quality, Treasury and Systems of the Hospital provided all their experience and knowledge about health and management and complemented Quales in the execution and implementation of ideas.
